Friends of the Prairie Skies Public Library District
What is the Friends of the Library?
The Friends of the Prairie Skies Public Library District is a non-profit organization that supports the Library by establishing a closer relationship between the Library and the people it serves. The Friends assume various projects and sponsor special Library events that are open to the public. The Friends meet occasionally throughout the year to discuss organization business.
Membership:
New members are desperately wanted and needed. Membership is free. The perks of being a member are:
- Receive first choice of the books at the book sale.
- Advance to the top of the new book waiting list.
- Certain Library Fines waived.
- Receive special invitations to all library events.
- Enjoy a special once a year "Friends of the Library" thank you and recognition dinner.
Donations:
Prairie Skies Public Library District is honored to receive donations of any kind. As we are a not for profit organization all donations all are tax deductible.Here are some different ways you may donate.
Honor/Memorial donations.
You may wish to have a book placed in the library in honor of someones anniversary, birthday or any other special occasion. You could just want someone to be remembered in a special way. This can be done in several different ways. With your donation a book or item will be placed in the library with their name and other information requested on a plaque in their honor or memory. A gift card would be sent to the person or family members notifying them of the gift.
Garden Tributes
Monetary donations may be made to further the landscaping of both locations. Your name or the person's whose name you desire will be placed on our plaque.
Sponsor & Benefactors
Want to be a benefactor of the Prairie Skies Public Library?
Pal - $25.00 ( Name on the Pals List)
Sponsor- $50.00 (Name on plaque, special invitations to all events at the library)
Friend - $100.00 (Name on plaque, special invitation to all library events & annual recognition dinner, certain fines waved, first pick at annual book sale and top of the list on new book holds.)
Benefactors - $500.00 or more (Special recognition on plaque, name on individual plaques on the items purchased with donated money, annual award dinner recognition, all fines waived, first pick at annual book sale, and top of all hold lists.)
Book Donations
You can donate gently used books for the Friends of the Library book sales. Donation may be dropped at either location. The Friends are unable to accept donations of magazines, textbooks more than 5 years old and encyclopedias. We can give you a receipt for your donations. Please ask a librarian at the Circulation Desk for a form.
